Pentagon Press announces the release of Kishtwar Cauldron: The Struggle Against ISI’s Ethnic Cleansing written by Major General G D Bakshi. Launched by Lt Gen SK Sinha, former governor of J&K and Assam, on September 13, 2013 at New Delhi, the book is an invaluable human document detailing the intense operations undertaken in the sensitive Doda-Kishtwar region, one of the most troubled areas in J&K.

The author has given a first-hand detail of the CT operations in this book. He talks about the premature withdrawal of forces from the area pacified at great cost which eventually led to a complete snake and ladder syndrome of a serious slide, back and resurgence of terrorism in the past. It happened time and again in Doda-Kishtwar region from where forces were periodically withdrawn. This book is an excellent and timely account of the CT operations in J&K in general and Kishtwar in particular which gives a valuable read not only to military personnel but general public too.
