NBT-India’s Ladakh Book Festival held successfully

Expressing his utmost pleasure to be at the first-of-its-kind book festival organized in Ladakh by National Book Trust, India (under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India) in association with Administration of UT of Ladakh, the Ladakh Book Festival was inaugurated by Brig. B.D. Mishra, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Ladakh on 12 July 2023. The Book Festival was held from July 12-16,2023 at the New Multipurpose Indoor Stadium (NDS Memorial Sports Ground), Leh.

Speaking at the inaugural event, Hon’ble Lt. Governor said, “The tradition of writing books is part of the ancient art and literature of our country.” He appreciated NBT-India for organising Ladakh Book Festival on such a large scale, and expressed happiness at the vast number of books available at the festival for all sections of the society. He was mesmerized by the range of books displayed by all publishers, especially the books in all languages by NBT-India.

The Ladakh Book Festival 2023 also had an exhibition by prominent publishers and booksellers from across the country, showcasing bestsellers and rare books at the same time.
