As the spectrum of content evolved from print book to electronic subscriptions with new access models, BIPL played a pioneering role in introducing consortia model of subscription in the form of INDEST, the first ever Indian consortium. As the concept matured further, BIPL played a key role in providing quality content to consortium, like e-Shodh Sindhu-A national consortium under UGC –INFLIBNET, NKRC-National Knowledge Resources Consortium of CSIR &DST Labs,VTU – a consortium of colleges and DeLCON-DBT E-Library Consortium. BIPL also provides DrillBit plagiarism detection services to 1100+ HEIs.

When government of India launched the ambitious National Digital Library in the form of NDLI, BIPL emerged its strongest content partner by way of providing highly valuable resource, World e-Book Library and hosting 600,000 ebooks on NDLI platform. BIPL also partners with DELNET, India’s largest library network and serves its members with a large number of e-resources.

BIPL is a flagship company of Balani Group which was established in 1987 by Kailash Balani having an industry experience of more than five decades of serving thousands of libraries and dealing with 60+ Global publishers,covering different areas of knowledge. Aditya Books Pvt. Ltd., established in 1987, was the first and pioneering venture of Balani Group.
Balani is the former President of Federation of Publishers’ and Booksellers’ Assocations in India, Executive member of Delhi State Booksellers and Publishers Association, and also the member of FICCI publishing committee.
