Since 1988, the Colombian Book Chamber and Corferias have held the International Book Fair of Bogotá (FILBo), a successful alliance that has positioned this cultural event as one of the most important in the Spanish-speaking world. For 34 years, it has brought together all the actors in the book chain (authors, editors, proofreaders, translators, distributors, agents and booksellers) who, together with their readers, make up this book ecosystem that grows and strengthens every year.

In 2023 (April 18-May 2, 2023), Mexico is the Guest of Honor and the main theme is Roots, a word understood as the cause that leads them to celebrate this important anniversary; as origin, to celebrate the three roots of our culture -indigenous, Spanish and African- as support to have crucial conversations from sustainability, environment, gender and peace; and as a foundation, to talk about the roots and uprooting of migrant people.

The presence of Mexico in the FILBo 2023 is organized by the Fondo de Cultura Económica and the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has a pavilion of 3,000 m2, a bookshop with about 30,000 copies, presentations and talks with authors, art exhibitions, musical shows, gastronomic shows, cultural presentations and a delegation of 100 people related to Mexican culture, among writers, translators, publishers, musicians and artists, who nourish a cultural programming with more than 80 events.
