Balani Infotech has always been a front runner in providing good content and technological tools in the hands of students, researchers and the faculties which help them in their studies, research and publications. “We are looking at investing more in educational tools/softwares,” shares Kailash Balani of Balani Infotech, who has recently invested in Landquill and Drillbit.

On Landquill…

Lanquill is an A.I. based English language lab focusing on listening, speaking, reading and writing skills (LSRW). “It can also check the quality of research paper or an assignment with an auto-correcting tool, saving time for research. It is a make in India product and hence very affordable for the users. The idea was to provide Lanquill platform to millions of students, researchers and authors to check grammar, vocabulary and style to improve their writing skills with ease. It also provides seven certificate aligned with CEFR (The Common European Framework for Languages). Learners are assessed on their LSRW skills, Grammar and Vocabulary,” shares Kailash.

“Currently we have more than 350 clients including 208+ colleges under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Karnataka, 600K students, 350K+ active users, 3M Pages analysed and the usage is growing by the day,” he adds.

On collaboration with DrillBit…

“DrillBit is a Plagiarism Detection Software, a Make In India product and hence very affordable compared to foreign products. This is the only good software available to check plagiarism in 13+ Indian regional languages apart from the many foreign languages. There was a need for such a product and hence I invested in DrillBit. I help DrillBit in product development, marketing and sales,” shares Kailash.

DrillBit has over 500+ clients in India and overseas. “Clients include ministries, medical, technical, agricultrual, Management, Universities, and research institutes etc,” he adds.

Promoting Landquill and Drillbit…

“We are promoting DrillBit and Lanquill in India and overseas markets through our channel partners. We had displayed these products at the Frankfurt Book Fair, held in October, 2022. We are also going to showcase these two products during the forthcoming New Delhi World Book Fair 2023. We also conduct webinars and showcase our products at various Library and Academic Conferences to propogate the use and the benefits of such tools. We promoted DrillBit and Lanquill at the COLLNET-2022 Conference of Librarians held at Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok in November, 2022 and received a very good response,” tells Kailash.

“In fact, we sponsor and showcase our products at more than 40+ Library events a year. We conduct regular webinars on “How to Publish” in collaboration with various colleges and Universities which benefit researchers and the faculties. Such events are conducted by our in house PhD scholars,” he adds.

On National digital library…

“The recent budget announcement of setting up of national digital library for youth and children to facilitate access to quality books by the Hon’ble Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman is very good as she has announced allocation of more funds for education in the finance year 2023-24. However, Indian institutions need more funds for research and development. Setting of National Digital Library for the youth and children is a very thoughtful idea and initiative. This platform should help bring content in the regional languages as per the NEP-2020 for the benefit of youth in India and for the Indian diaspora. I am glad to inform that iGroup Infotech India Pvt.Ltd., our sister company, have already provided over 600,000+ ebooks on various subjects and languages on perpetual mode to the National Digital Library of India, under the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India,” concludes Kailash.
