Namita Gokhale receives honorary degree from University of York, relaunches Paro
Renowned author and literary icon Namita Gokhale has been awarded an honorary degree by the University of York, marking a poignant milestone more than five decades after she was forced to drop out of university in India. Namita, the author of 25 books and co-founder of the Jaipur Literature Festival, one of the world’s largest literary gatherings, was recognised for her exceptional contribution to literature and publishing.“It feels as though there’s nothing Namita Gokhale can’t do,” the University shared in its statement, celebrating her as one of its honorary graduates this summer.
