There’s always a right book!

The 40th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) at Expo Centre Sharjah, had 1,632 publishers from 83 countries showcasing millions of titles across a 10,000 sqm area, with India leading international participation. Organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), SIBF 2021 had 85 writers and intellectuals who led the fair’s 970 events and activities under the theme ‘There’s always a right book’, inspired by SBA’s international campaign ‘Into Books’.

Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman, SBA,said, “SIBF 2021 will serve as a catalyst for new readers and a key player in transforming the industry to meet their needs. At the same time, the book fair will offer a platform for authors and researchers to broaden their areas of interest.”

Celebrating the 125th anniversary Bodour Al Qasimi, President, International Publishers Association and Publisher, Kalimat group,said, “In the International Publishers Association, we seek to consolidate cooperation and solidarity between all stakeholders, and to strengthen the ties and relations that bring them together, and this is what prompted the Federation to work with partners to launch the International Sustainable Publishing and Industry Resilience (INSPIRE) initiative.” She further added one needs to collectively come together and collaborate on the 10 objectives of (Inspire) to find solutions, emerge stronger and strengthen solidarity between all the links.

As we get ready for the 30th New Delhi World Book Fair from January 8-16, 2022,and with India celebrating 75 years of Independence, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is an initiative of the Government of India and the Guest of Honour country is France.
