The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will develop a new syllabus and textbooks by April 2023– Says Director Hrushikesh Senapaty with a purpose of developing 21st Century learning skills among students.

NCERT initiated and reaching out to 4.2 million teachers. NISHTHA, National Initiative for School Heads’ and Teachers’ Holistic Advancement, is a capacity building programme for improving quality of school education through integrated teacher training. Till September 2019 they had reached out to 23,000 + Teachers.

NCERT via NISHTHA aims to address gaps in curriculum delivery and improve learning outcomes, will train 33,000 key resource persons and 42 lakh elementary school teachers.

The Maharashtra International Education Board (MIEB) will be merged with the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

To aid Schools in Nagaland to enhance their education system and learning environment as they lack basic infrastructure a project for approval of 68 million dollars is to be put forward to World Bank in September 2020. Nagaland has 1,50,000 students studying in 2000 Government schools approximately. The objective is to develop lighthouse schools with enhanced learning environments having library spaces, internet connectivity, student interaction areas, improved infrasturucture and other details.

 

The HRD Ministry asks students to continue learning with available digital e-learning platforms, amidst coronavirus scare as schools are all shut for preventive and precautionary measures.

DIKSHA- which has 80000 ebooks for class 12th (www.diksha.gov.in)
e-Pathshala- 1886 audios, 2000 videos, 696 e-books (e-Pubs)- classes 1-12th (www.epathshala.nic)

National Repository of Open Educational Resources (NROER)- A portal with interactive, video, audios and files in different languages. (www.nroer.gov.in/welcome)

SWAYAM- online education platform for School ( 9- 12th) and Higher Education having 1900 courses. (www.swayam.gov.in)

Swayam Prabha- channel for transmitting educational content. (www.swayamprabha.gov.in)
