Rewind and Play – Hostel Diaries of a Frustrated B.Tech, is a good and easy read. It is a light hearted story written in a simple way. This book is surely bound to make you nostalgic and reminisce your college days. Besides, fun and adventurous moments, there are also emotional highs and lows, which most of us can relate to.
Raghav Diwan, protagonist, is living his American dream with a successful career, comfortable corporate and personal life. But suddenly, with a series of unfortunate events, he loses everything. And while going through the darkest phase of his life, he receives an invitation to reunion meet with his college batchmates. Being reluctant initially, he decides to go and discovers some simple truths and realities of his life. The past wants to reveal something to him. From where they all have started, being happy with least amount of material resources, unconditional love, true friendships, never-say-die attitude and winning all big and small battles, trying new things, exploring never explored pastures, dreaming big and planning future together. All these escapades and memories, will take us to the most interesting and loved years of our lives. So this REWIND of old times and PLAYing it again is the gripping tale of roller coaster ride that has all the emotions in right amount. There is never a dull moment for a reader, as every story leads to another one.
What I liked about this book, is an introspection journey of Raghav and his realization of true happiness, like most good stories, it has also ended, with a thought “And they lived happily ever after.”
