Training course in book publishing in Srinagar

Today there is a clear need for trained professionals in different areas of publishing – editing, production, design, sales and marketing. In order to meet the demand, National Book Trust, India (NBT) has been organizing short-term courses in publishing throughout the country

In pursuance of this aim, NBT organised a week long training course in book publishing at Srinagar from August 19 – 24, 2013 in collaboration with the Allama lqbal Library, University of Kashmir. There was a tremendous response to the training programme, with more than 35 participants. Faculty was drawn from Delhi and Srinagar. This included Sridhar Balan of Ratnasagar and Kalyan Bannerjee of NCERT, among others.

Training course in Book Publishing aims to give the participants an overview of publishing. Hands-on experience and interactive sessions was an important segment of the course.
