Festival of books in the north eastern region

National Book Trust is organizing a Festival of Books in the north- eastern Region of the country from January to March 2011. The first one was held in Digboi from January 22-30, 2011 while others are scheduled as: Sivasagar:  February 6-14,  2011; Itanagar: February 19-22, 2011; and Ambassa: March 14-20, 2011.

In furtherance of the mission to promot books and the habit of reading by organizing book fairs and exhibitions throughout the country NBT is organizing Pustak Prikarma programmes under the scheme of mobile exhibitions. Two such mobile exhibitions were being organized in Orissa between January 10 to January 31 and another in Maharashtra between January 17 and  February 7. The cities covered under these Pustak Parikarma programmes, include Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Puri, Sambalpur, Dhenkanal in Orissa and Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal, Wardha, Nagpur and Bhandara in Maharashtra.
