First national book festival in Kashmir held successfully

Organised by NBT, India, Chinar Book Festival was successfully held from August 17- 25 at SKICC on the banks of Dal Lake. The festival offered a rare opportunity for writers, poets and artists to engage with like-minded people outside the region, fostering intellectual exchange and cultural discourse.

This first national book festival in the valley also saw participation from National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL). It featured more than 200 stalls providing access to books in various languages including English, Urdu, Kashmiri, Hindi, Dogri, and other Indian languages. The event also offered special discounts and an opportunity for readers to engage with books from over a thousand publishers nationwide.
