The 13th Sharjah Publishers Conference (29- 31st Oct) had professionals from 106 countries participating and gaining insights into the world of global publishing. The conference had insights by experts, interactive round table discussions and matchmaking sessions for business growth, opportunities and cultural exchange..

Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) Chairperson, Sheikha Bodour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi in her keynote speech said, “In an age where opinions are formed and shared at lightning speed, it is critical that publishers continue to provide a solid foundation of truth upon which individuals can build their understanding of complex issues.”

HE Ahmed Bin Rakkad Al Ameri, CEO of SBA, was happy about the participation of publishers and agents at the conference to explore the advancement of the publishing sector and the future of the book industry. South Korea being the Guest of Honour at SIBF this year, Yoon Chul Ho, President of the Korean Publishers Association said, “It is a great honour for Korea to be present at this conference, where we can discuss opportunities, best practices, and initiatives in Korea with attendees from all around the world.”

The round table discussions had different themes on: Market Updates, Innovation in Publishing, Genre and Format Updates, Skills Lab, Arabic Skills Lab, Publisher at Sharjah Publishers Conference.

The Publishers Conference curated by Emma House with support from Ku Liang, Diego Radici and Zaher Elsousi was cherished by delegates who enjoyed it being interactive and knowledge oriented.
