Amrita & Victor launched at The Embassy of Hungary, New Delhi
Ashwini Bhatnagar recently unveiled his latest book, Amrita & Victor, at a distinguished event held at The Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi. The book launch was graced by His Excellency Istvan Szabo, the Ambassador of Hungary to India, and esteemed art historian Dr. Alka Pande, in the presence of a captivated audience.
Amrita & Victor delves into the captivating narrative of Amrita Sher-Gil, an emblematic figure who symbolized the rich cultural fusion between Hungary and India. Bhatnagar emphasized that the book is based on meticulously documented letter exchanges between Amrita and Victor, vividly capturing their conversations, incidents, and the unfolding of their remarkable relationship.
The evening commenced with an engaging conversation between Ashwini Bhatnagar and Dr. Alka Pande, focusing on Amrita’s artistic prowess and her profound connection with Victor Egan, her first cousin and eventual husband. Adding to the allure of the event, the National School of Drama presented a dramatic reading and performance directed by the esteemed theater director, Santanu Bose.
