NBT, India celebrates its 65th Foundation Day

On August 1, 2021, the National Book Trust, India celebrated its 65th Foundation Day. The event was marked by the Annual Foundation Day lecture and a 1 km race competition for NBT employees. The winners were awarded certificates and medals.

The Foundation day lecture was held in NBT Headquarters (online as well as in-person) addressed by Dr Lalit Behari Goswami (Retd.) and Chairperson (governing body) Lakshmibai College, DU.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Lalit Behari Goswami, Chief Guest at the event, talked about the expansive trove of traditional knowledge our culture has at its disposal and appreciated NBT’s efforts in presenting this knowledge in all Indian languages for its readers of varied age-groups through its content. He further elaborated on how NBT has been a forerunner in igniting the flame of curiosity for knowledge through its books that has helped cultivate a league of global citizens.

Prof. Govind Prasad Sharma, Chairman NBT congratulated all the officials on the joyous occasion and reminded them of the responsibility NBT has on its shoulders to mold its readers into a generation of critical thinkers. Congratulating all NBT officials, Yuvraj Malik, Director NBT said, “As Knowledge Partner of the Nation, NBT is a benchmark for quality content globally. NBT is the only premier organization in the world that has worked continuously even during the pandemic and launched seven books under the Corona Studies Series, to help people deal with the psychosomatic repercussions of Covid-19.”

On this occasion, as per NBT tradition, employees who had completed 25 years at NBT were felicitated for their hard work and dedication.
