Encyclopedias have always been an effective foundation for self-learning and with the advent of numerous digital learning platforms, the new series of Encyclopedias from Parragon, aims to re-invent the absorption of knowledge through an enthralling introduction of numerous subjects and concepts on a primary level.

Parragon Publishing India is set to launch an exciting new series of Encyclopedias this summer, under the imprint ‘Open Door Edition’, which constitutes its principal business in the UK. PPIPL UK Limited, the holding company of Parragon India, has recently diversified the range and reach of their publishing ventures and released three new imprints, out of which ‘Open Door Edition’ is invested towards curating and distributing new and invigorating titles across the world.

These books are designed to be highly visually stimulating, along with extensively researched content that is advanced and updated as per the changing times and curriculums. The series will include 12 titles of a varied range and extent, with over 900+ pages of extremely well researched subject matter that is designed to grab the attention of a young and excited readership. The project has been curated and collated over a period of three years through the lens of encyclopedic reference research, during which time editors and subject matter experts from the UK and India created and proofed each and every section of these books with diligence and remarkable expertise. Moreover, the entire series has been produced in paramount quality with high specifications, and would also be available in e-book formats, with language coalitions across Europe through PPIPL UK Limited.

Two significant titles from within the series are – ‘The Book of Everything’ and ‘The Big Book of Questions and Answers’ which are already set for release. The Parragon team has dedicated its research and design teams towards creating trendsetting layouts for these books, while covering a wide and detailed variety of topics relevant within the field of encyclopedic knowledge. ‘The Book of Everything’ is a comprehensive compilation of various subject topics like world history, the birth of human civilizations, planet earth, astronomical advancements, scientific discoveries and the universe. The title has been presented in an explanatory format with engaging illustrations to captivate its readers. The book’s content was written and reviewed as per contemporary discourses and creatively adapted to innovative layout designs. ‘The Big Book of Questions and Answers’ on the other hand follows a more inquisitive format where all concepts are delivered in the form of questions and answers. This title covers a wider ground within the subjects of science and history, with concentrated sections on the concepts of earth’s atmosphere, ecosystems, flora, fauna, wildlife and the relationship between humankind and our environment. The book also covers specific topics within biology, physics and chemistry on a foundational level and includes information about different countries and cultures. Both titles maintain a zealous commitment towards authenticity and innovation. Furthermore, after the release of the two aforementioned titles, a number of specialized titles are set to be added to the series which will cover focused topics and genres like the first human civilizations, human body, transport and mechanics etc.

“In this era of information, knowledge is available endlessly across myriad physical and digital platforms, however the consumption of this knowledge by younger generations of children still needs to emanate from credible and well investigated sources,” says Vineet Sharma, Managing Director at Parragon. “The ‘Open Door Edition’ encyclopedic range is bringing that credibility and authentication of knowledge to the table, whereby we aim to re-invent the traditional reference mode of learning by supplying highly engaging content through photographic layouts of immense quality.” Adrian Garner, the Executive Director with PPIPL UK Limited, equally resonates with this aspiration. “As a company, we’re not only invested in producing products of the highest quality, but we’re also dedicated towards updating growth and learning practices for young kids, through cutting-edge formats and ideas, combined with certified information,” he said.

This series of encyclopedias has been curated for a readership and audience in the Indian sub-continent as well as the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region and will be distributed accordingly, after being released in India. Parragon has been a leading children’s publisher for decades and thus remains personally invested in the prospects of growth and learning for kids. The Parragon team believes that this series can be an incredible tool for knowledge propagation, especially for young students. It has been designed to generate a curiosity within children and to advance learning and reading habits within young kids.

Encyclopedias have always been an effective foundation for self-learning and with the advent of numerous digital learning platforms, this series aims to re-invent the absorption of knowledge through an enthralling introduction of numerous subjects and concepts on a primary level. Parragon believes that this is merely the first step in a series of developments, wherein they intend to introduce several such reference titles and series which resonate with contemporary times and the modern requirements of younger generations.
