Celebrating Kanpur!

On the occasion of 211th Foundation Day of Kanpur, Jagran Prakashan Limited gave a unique gift to the city – the Jagran Coffee Table Book Cawnpore to Kanpur, which says it all about the city from its glorious past to hi-tech and modernised present day life. The book was launched by the chairman of the Jagran Group Yogendra Mohan Gupta along with editor-in-chief of Dainik Jagran, Sanjay Gupta, DIG Kanpur range RK Chaturvedi and vice chancellor of CSA University Prof. Munna Singh. Editor and CEO of i next, Alok Sanwal along with associate editor i next and author of the book Sharmishtha Sharma with many other dignitaries of the city were present on the book launch organised in the Laxmi Devi auditorium of Jagran Degree College.

On this occasion chairman of the Jagran group Yogendra Mohan Gupta said, “Jagran group is continuously working to improve the city of Kanpur and once again the city should shine on the international map. This book is a great way to improve people knowledge about the city.” While, editor of the Dainik Jagran, Sanjay Gupta said, “I was born in Kanpur and studied in Christ Church College before shifting to Delhi in the year 1992. Our future generations would get to know a lot about Kanpur with the help of this book.”

Author of the book Sharmishtha Sharma said, “The book Cawnpore to Kanpur is first of its kind Coffee Table Book which is written about a city. The vibrant pictures and interesting content of the book makes it unique. A lot of research has been done to gather facts and history of the city.” The book contains pictures of old temples of the city along with modern day Kanpur. Cawnpore to Kanpur is an effort to give all dimensional information about the city.
