Launch of the 3rd edition of Romain Rolland Book Prize 2020

The French Institute in India announced the 3rd edition of Romain Rolland Book Prize 2020, an award for the best publication of a French title in India. The awardee will be announced at Zee Jaipur Literature Festival 2020 / Jaipur Book Mark 2020.

A curated trip to Paris Book Fair (Livre Paris 2020) awaits the publisher where India will be the guest of honour country and one month of residency in France for the winning translator.

The Institute has received ten nominations in five Indian vernacular languages (Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam and English) Le Racisme Expliqué à ma fille by Tahar Ben Jelloun (Bingsha Shatabdi), Malentendu a Moscou by Simone de Beauvoir (Green Books), Corps desirable by Hubert Haddad (Kalachuvadu Publications Pvt. Ltd.), Astérix by Albert Uderzo, René Goscinny (OM Books), Chanson Douce by Leïla Slimani (Patra Bharati), Mourir à Bénarès by K. Madavane (Picador India), Du plus loin de l’oubli and Pour que tu ne te perdes pas dans le quartier by Patrick Modiano (Rajpal & Sons), Maximes et autres euvres morales by La Rochefoucauld (Sanbun publishers) and Histoires en 5 Minutes by Olivier Dupin (Scholastic India).
