Kangra Valley Writer’s Retreat: Back with its second session

1,336

Here’s a writing escape — an eclectic experience combining quality writing time, insightful feedback and interactive sessions with industry stalwarts, the spirit of nature, the craft of the locals along with delicious Indian food. Interact with other writers on their journey and published authors over informal evening drinks or morning walks and brainstorm about your work-in-progress or your finished manuscript.

If you are a writer, chances are, you may occasionally crave to escape to an inspirational surrounding, away from the humdrum of everyday demands to attend to your muse. While deciding to do that, you have a choice of going to a writing residency on one end of the spectrum which is all about writing in solitude and writers festivals / conferences on the other end which focus more on networking and harnessing your writing tools, writing retreat on the other hand falls somewhere in the middle of the spectrum with a good blend of both within a very small group to ensure you return feeling enriched.

This November 22-25, TheWriteScene.com, a portal for writers is organizing a second session of their Kangra Valley Writer’s Retreat, Himalayas, after a successful session in March 2019.

Mesmerizing Views

Kangra valley, one of Himachal’s most pristine valleys, is home to India’s First UNESCO World Heritage Village. The snow-capped Dhauladhar mountains, numerous glacial rivulets, pine forests and mesmerizing open green/golden fields along with the fresh mountain air, all bring a sense of peace and calm. Out here you are away from the daily chaos and can be truly in sync with nature.

The inspiration…

Deeba Salim Irfan, the founder of TheWriteScene.com, is a Dubai based author, an award winning poet and a brand expert. After a retreat in Slovenia she is now focused on retreats in India and in Dubai. She said, “Curating this retreat was extremely satisfying after I received exceptional feedback and realised how much every member took-away in feedback from industry’s best and in terms of an enriching experience. I am looking forward to our November session open to a very limited group of writers (a max. of 8-10) which is now open for registration.”

What to expect?

The distinctive elements of the retreat were a blend of interactive sessions and exclusive time to write or edit one’s work. It was an excellent opportunity for writers who have a stressful schedule at work or are bogged down with a multitude of responsibilities. This retreat promised its members an exclusive time to write in individual cottages with mesmerising and inspirational views and delivered. Along with giving a unique time, yoga mornings, and a acoustic musical afternoon was an additional treat.
