Visit of Hervé Barbaret, the secretary general of the Ministry of Culture of France to India

In the framework of Paris Book Fair (Livre Paris 2020), Hervé Barbaret, the secretary general of the Ministry of Culture of France visited Delhi where he met Dr. Rita Chowdhury, Director of National Book Trust in India (NBT) and also representatives of the Literature Festivals, publishing houses and booksellers.

The French Institute in India organized these rendezvous with the minister and the Indian counterparts for preparing invitation of India as the guest of honour country in 2020 to represent India in the 21st century at the book fair to the French Audience who have the eagerness to know more about Indian culture and its literature.

A round table meeting was organized by the French Institute with Neeta Gupta (Jaipur BookMark & Yatra Books) Pramod and Priya Kapoor (Roli Books), Urvashi Butalia (Zubaan), Kanchana Mukhopadhyay (Bingsha Shatabdi), Arpita Das (Yoda Press), Simar Puneet (Aleph Book Company), Pranav Johri (Rajpal & Sons), Jaya Bhattacharji Rose (International Publishing Consultant), VN Kutty and Jyaneswar Laishram (All About Book Publishing).

The meeting was moderated by Christine Cornet – Attaché for Debates, Ideas and Books at French Institute in India / Embassy of France in India.
