NBT, India offers direct and free of cost single point delivery of its publications

The Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource development, Govt. of India had issued guidelines that all state and UTs should procure ‘Age appropriate publications’ of National Book Trust, India for supplies at schools covered under Padhe Bharat, Badhe Bharat Library Grant of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, wherein the Ministry recommends for direct procurement from National Book Trust, India without involvement of any middleman.

The National Book Trust, India is offering a free of cost single point delivery in each state for direct procurements made by the state govt./state project director. It is also offering consultancy support in setting up Readers Clubs and Reading Corners in schools.

Under this scheme, NBT India is working with all states and UTs covering about 8 lakh schools across India. This humungous project requires printing and supply of more than 2000 titles each in all Indian languages as well as in English.

The Manager (Sales &Marketing), National Book Trust, India informed that different states have entered into different kinds of understanding with National Book Trust, India for the procurement of books. Some states have already placed direct orders with National Book Trust, India, whereas others, where the funds are released at District level, are willing to enter into an MoU with National Book Trust, India to ensure that supplies are made in extended period of time.
