CAPEXIL discusses issues of concern of Books, Publications and Printing Panel of the Council

CAPEXIL recently organised the first meeting (2018-19) of the Books, Publications and Printing Panel of the Council under chirmanship of Ramesh Kumar Mittal.

The export performance of the Panel during 2016-17, 2017-18 and 2017-18 (April-December) and the same period of 2018-19 were discussed at the meeting. It was reported that the export of the Panel during 2017-18 (April-Dec.) was 190.3 million USD which has grown to 294.55 million USD during 2018-19 of the same period i.e. April-December, showing an increase of about 55%. This figure is for first three quarters of 2018-19. If the same trend continues, the export of the Panel during April-March 2018-19 may reach to US$ 330 million, showing an increase of 24%. The Panel also discussed on the export target of the panel for the year 2019-20 to be US$ 415 million.

The Panel also discussed that Capexil Book Division has submitted the proposals to the Government for organizing Promotional Activities under MAI during 2019-20 at leading book fairs like Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (April 24-30,2019), Frankfurt Book Fair (October 16-20,2019), London Book Fair (March 10-12, 2020) and RBSM during January/February 2020.

At the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2019, National Book Trust, India is the Nodal Agency to conceptualize and execute the Guest of Honour Presentations of India in co-ordination with other valuable stakeholders. India Pavilion will house all Indian Publishers besides having Thematic Exhibitions, Activity Corner, etc. CAPEXIL is associated with NBT for Publishers participation in this mega event.
