The Bookseller has launched a new award scheme to shine a spotlight on the success of the export teams of the British book trade. The British Book Award for Export will run in parallel with the existing British Book Awards or ‘Nibbies’.The scheme is being run in association with Times Publishing Ltd and Pansing Distribution Pte Ltd (Books). The British Book Award for Export is open to all UK-based publishers across trade and education/academic publishing. The scheme is now open for entries and will close on 8th February with the prize-giving at The London Book Fair (10th-12th March 2019).

Besides, the Bookseller has announced a number of significant additions to The British Book Awards or ‘Nibbies’ for 2019. The Children’s Book of the Year will be split into two – Fiction and Illustrated & Non- Fiction. The change reflects the importance of children’s books and the number of books published each year.

A new award for Small Press of the Year also will run in parallel with the main British Book Awards. The new scheme will invite entries from small presses – those with less than £2m in revenue.
