IBP India organises an intensive course for editors

Institute of Book Publishing organized 4th intensive course for editors in New Delhi from May 23-28, 2011. The six-day course was designed to update knowledge of various aspects of editing. It is the only course of its kind in Asia and Africa which facilitate the widening understanding and knowledge about the publishing industry, understanding what editing is all about and how to do it effectively and efficiently. Establishing contacts with leading professionals in the industry, learning online copy editing, networking with fellow participants and faculty and learning how to deal with authors successfully. The course included lectures, workshops, field visit to a printing/publishing house, study reference material, handouts, videos on a publishing house and an editor at work programme. There was also a practice session for editing and proofreading skills on a manuscript copy given for the purpose.
