Parragon Publishing India Pvt Ltd has announced that it is an independent legal entity and will continue to offer licensed content and more, under the same brand name and manner. This announcement comes after Parragon UK entered into an employee consultation process recently.

Parragon Publishing India Private Limited is an independent legal entity, as it is a joint venture company, and shall continue to operate in the Indian Sub-continent, Middle-East and North African markets,” tells Vineet Sharma, MD, Parragon Publishing India Private Limited.

Parragon UK has started a 45-day consultation process for Parragon’s UK business and will retain any licences until the process is complete. But, this does not affects the Indian operations. “The proposals announced by Parragon UK shall not impact Parragon Publishing India. It will be business as usual with no anticipated changes to our operations or other business functions,” he shares.

Corporate structure…

Parragon Publishing India Private Limited shall continue to be owned by its holding company Parragon India Limited, a UK based company. “But, we have got a new set of investors for the joint venture,” he shares.

Vineet would continue to run the business as MD of Parragon Publishing India Private Limited while Sanjeev Beckaya continues to be the other director in the company. “Even the corporate structure remains the same,” adds Vineet as a matter of fact.

Licensed content…

“We shall continue to give the finest, well researched content and products. Our relationship with Licensors like Walt Disney, Mattel Inc. and Nickelodeon will pretty much remain the same as the licenses were signed by Parragon Publishing India Private Limited. So, we will continue to bring licensed books to the Indian Sub-continent, Middle East and North African markets,” he adds.

Content from Parragon…

“Another major effect would be that Parragon Publishing India Private Limited will become an independent business which will have rights to the generic content from Parragon in perpetuity. Basically, we will continue to rehash Parragon content and create new content in English language and also other languages,” shares Vineet.

The branding…

“We will continue to offer books under the same brand and in the same manner. The branding and associate trademarks have also been assigned to Parragon Publishing India Private Limited,” shares Vineet.

Distribution…

“Shree Book Centre will continue to be our master stockist, which has been very successful in the last one year. We are publishers and want to concentrate on creating and developing excellent content for the market. The key to market is with distributors and Shree Book Centre has done an excellent job. They have set up a fantastic warehouse and facilities, which is giving us lot more data and feedback which helps us a lot in product planning. Infact, we have even laid down the product plan for the coming year,” he adds.

Growth so far…

“Parragon Publishing India Private Limited has witnessed a substantial growth over the last 11 years. Since June 2006 (when the Indian operations were first set up) to the present date, the company has established itself firmly in the thriving publishing sector in the Indian subcontinent, Middle East & North African markets,” tells Vineet. “We have used the licenses in an innovative way, which is unparalleled. We will continue to do the same. Children books have more touch-and-feel factor and so we are more visible in print and we will continue to concentrate on the same.”

Message to the readers…

“The changeover will be seamless with the Indian business continuing to operate at normal operational efficiency with no anticipated changes to its business functions. As part of this sale, Parragon Publishing India will continue to have exclusive access to print, publish and distribute Parragon content in the Indian, Middle East and North African markets,” concludes Vineet.
