55 years of House of Vani Prakashan!

At the recently concluded New Delhi World Book Fair 2018, Vani Prakashan celebrated its 55th year in business. Situated in Hall 12A and spread into the area of 16 stalls, Vani Prakashan (338-353) made these nine days of the fair special by organising events almost every single day. Arun Maheshwari, the Managing Director and Aditi Maheshwari-Goyal, the Director of Vani Prakashan were seen managing the events of the stall and taking care of the guests on all of the days of the fair.

On the very first day itself, Padma Shri Usha Kiran Khan graced the stall with her presence. She talked about her experience in Hindi and Maithili writing and her relationship with literature as a whole. On the next day, writer Narendra Kohli was invited for a short meet and greet with his fans.

Famous Hindi Poet Anamika also graced their stall on one day. While, famous NDTV reporter Abhigyan Prakash had a conversation with Aditi Maheshwari-Goyal on the other. Other famous personalities who graced the occasion were Bengali writer Tasleema Nasreen, Purushottam Aggarwal, Gagan Gill, Sudhish Pachauri, and Kshama Sharma.

On 10 January, World Hindi Day, Vani Prakashan organised its ‘Upanyas Kumbh,’ which was moderated by Ajit Rai and the guests were writer Balendu Dwivedi, senior journalists Rakesh Tiwari, Pradeep Saurabh, Sahitya Akademi Award winner Nasira Sharma, and journalist and story teller- Gitashree. This session was followed by a Nukkad Natak (Street Play) on Balendu Dwivedi’s newest book Madaripur Junction, performed by the theatre group called The Third Bell.

The company also organised Kavita Kumbh with media partner Amar Ujala. The session was moderated by renowned journalist Sanjeev Paliwal and the guests included senior poets Anamika, and Madan Kashyap, young writer Jyoti Chawla, senior writer Sunita Budhiraja, Dalit writer Rajat Rani ‘Meenu’, poets Arun Dev and, Nilay Upadhyay, Bengali writer Tasleema Nasreen, and the youngest of the lot- poet and writer Deepak Ramola.

Vani Prakashan also organised other events like Gazal Hastakshar and Bal Sahitya Kumbh. Many new titles were also launched at the show.
