India hosts IPA Congress once again!

It is a matter of pride to note that FIP is hosting IPA Congress for the second time in India, after a gap of 25 years. The congress is setting a platform to present, question, analyse and finally emerge with fresh ideas and takeaways that will help publishers re-imagine their publishing landscape.

With the theme ‘Shaping the Future: Innovation Meets Experience,’ the four days of the congress will provide publishers an opportunity to explore innovations and technologies that help them meet customer’s changing needs and learn from the wealth of experience acquired by publishers from all over the world. This year’s programme line up includes keynote sessions based on the IPA’s core pillars of Copyright and Freedom to Publish. International Publishers Congress is a rare opportunity that is not going to occur again in the coming decades, and indeed a matter of great pride and honour for the entire publishing fraternity of India.

Also, we at All About Book Publishing, are coming up with a book Publishers on Publishing: Inside India’s Book Market, edited by Nitasha Devasar. This book is about publishers talking to their own fraternity and to their readers, authors and communities, at a time when the industry faces more challenges and disruptions than ever before but remains optimistic and buoyant nevertheless. It brings together various pieces of the Indian publishing puzzle to create a picture, admittedly partial, of the what, why and how of India’s book business. In the process it raises questions, highlights yawning gaps and calls out for more action both by publishers themselves as also by other players in the knowledge ecosystem that publishing is part of.

With so much happening all around, it seems to be an exciting time for all.

Happy publishing!
