Celebration of books!

As the New Year dawns, it is time to join the celebration of books and the publishing world. The New Delhi World Book Fair – the Kumbh of books is here in New Delhi to give us nine days of total bliss of books and more. While exhibitors get a platform to reach their potential readers, visitors get to choose their gems from an ocean of books.

Then Zee Jaipur Literature Festival, the biggest literary festival is here too…once again in Jaipur. One can expect to see the who’s who of the industry at the event. Then, the 42nd edition of the Kolkata Book Fair is scheduled to start on January 30 and continue till February 11. The theme country in 2018 will be France.

Another important event slated early this year is the much-anticipated and much-awaited International Publishers Congress, which is being held in India after 25 years. The IPA Congress is a pivotal moment in the world publishing calendar, and provides a perfect forum where publishers can meet and discuss everything from copyright and freedom to publish to technologies and what the future holds for our industry.

So there will be different kind of events in different parts of the country to promote not just book trade, but also book reading and book culture, making it a perfect start for the New Year.
