A nine-year-old who read 300 books over a year’s time

In the smartphone era, where children are glued to mobile, laptops and tablets, there are a precious few who still consider books as their best friends. One such precious child is a nine-year old student of Lancers International School – Maya Louise Joshi. A voracious reader, she not only reads the books from cover to cover but also shares their reviews on her blog. She claims to have read more than 300 books last year. Her blog titled ‘Fabulous Books’ is about the remarkable books that she has read. According to her they are fabulous because they provide an important message, such as not to judge people and to be courageous.

And who is her favourite author? “Eva Ibbotson, Roald Dahl, Jacqueline Wilson, Michael Morpurgo, Enid Blyton and JK Rowling,” she quips. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Journey to the River Sea, Wonder and Tuesdays at the Castle are some of the books she has reviewed on her blog.
