International Publishers Association (IPA) is a nodal federation of more than 60 publishers’ associations from 50 countries including India. The association has announced that its 32nd International Publishers Congress will be organised at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi on February 11-13, 2018, hosted by the Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP), its member in India. This is second time IPA has brought the congress to India, first was in the year 1992.

According to Ashok Gupta, honorary general secretary, FIP, “This is a great opportunity for Indian publishers to participate and understand the global publishing issues. It will be a knowledgeable platform for discussion on topics like copyright law, freedom of publishing, role of digital technology, future of publishing, impact of IT on K-12 publishing and more. It will also be a good platform to meet and network with international publishers.”

Headquartered in Geneva, IPA represents the interests of the global publishing industry through international forums and events. Since its inception in 1896, IPA has been tackling constant issues faced by publishers across the globe as protection and defense of copyright is one of the association’s main objectives. Moreover, the association stands for the creation of a common network for publishers to exchange views and boost business, while promoting literacy and reading habit among people.
