Shatrughan Sinha’s biography launched!
Om Books International, in association with The Claridges and Daily Hunt, launched India’s most honest authorized biography on the most controversial actor of Hindi cinema & Indian politics – Anything But Khamosh: The Shatrughan Sinha Biography by Bharathi S Pradhan. This power politico book launch was attended by top politicians of BJP and Congress including chief guest LK Advani and Yashwant Sinha. Adding to top of that, it was attended by megastar Sonakshi Sinha and other members of the family. The launch started with a brief lamp lighting ceremony and a panel discussion was held between Yashwant Sinha, LK Advani and Shatrughan Sinha, moderated by Dipa Chaudhury, chief editor, Om Books International. The discussion ended with an enthusiastic book reading ceremony by Sonakshi Sinha and Kush Sinha. The book was unveiled in the presence of Shatrughan Sinha and his family, LK Advani, Yashwant Sinha, Ajay Mago, Sanjay Mago and Om Prakash Mago.
Ajay Mago, publisher, Om Books International said, “Some of my recurrent associations with Shatrughan Sinha are: a cop’s uniform, a cop’s jeep, a street-fighter, a baddie who evoked sympathy as he fell to a bullet, a social jaywalker in need of reigning in. But most of all, what stuck was his thin lanky frame, the strange mix of reverence and irreverence, uninterrupted dialogue delivery, stylish swagger, intense eyes, his signature scars topped by a booming voice imitating Prithviraj Kapoor’s ‘Khamosh’ from none other than a milestone in Hindi cinema—Mughal-e-Azam. Anything but Khamosh: The Shatrughan Sinha Biography by Bharathi S Pradhan is a riveting account of a rich and chequered life. A seven-year wait for the book has been truly worth it.”
While, Shatrughan Sinha expressed “When I started on this intense seven-year journey with my friend and author Bharathi S Pradhan, I knew we were going to come out with a biography that would set a benchmark for its honesty, objectivity and its potential as an inspiration for the young. There are lessons to be learnt from my tumultuous life for anybody who wants to be an achiever on his own steam.”
