Indian Publishers Conference 2024 unlocks digital frontiers in publishing
The Indian Publishers Conference 2024, themed ‘Unleashing Digital Potential,’ brought together industry leaders and visionaries from around the world at The Lalit, New Delhi, on August 2, 2024. Organised by The Federation of Indian Publishers (FIP) in collaboration with the Indian Reprographic Rights Organization (IRRO), this event aimed to harness the transformative power of digital technologies in the publishing landscape.
The Indian Publishers Conference (IPC) 2024 received great appreciation with over 130 participants from across the nation. The auspicious occasion was inaugurated by Honourable Bansuri Swaraj and the occasion was graced in the evening by Honorable Harsh Malhotra, Hon’ble Minister of State for Corporate Affairs and Road Transport & Highways, Government of India.
The conference poised to address the urgent needs and opportunities emerging in today’s digital publishing landscape. As digital technologies rapidly transform how content is created, distributed, and consumed, publishers face unprecedented challenges and possibilities. IPC’24 was strategically designed to foster dialogue and collaboration among global stakeholders, enabling participants to gain actionable insights, share best practices, and forge partnerships to drive innovation and sustainability in the publishing industry.

Sessions explored innovative approaches to maximising revenue amidst evolving consumer behaviours and delved into pivotal discussions on shaping the future of copyright protection. Additionally, experts examined AI’s role in enhancing content creation, distribution, and reader engagement while emphasising the importance of standardised metadata for improving the discoverability and accessibility of content across digital platforms.

While, Dr. MA Sikander, Prof Baldeo Bhai Sharma and Ankit Sahni, were awarded with the Friends of Publishing Award for their invaluable contribution to the Federation and Indian publishing industry. Navneet Education (India) Ltd, Mahavir Publishing Company and VK Global Publications were conferred with Outstanding Publisher Awards. FDA Logistics was conferred with Outstanding Logistics Company Award for their contribution for promoting e-commerce in the Indian publishing industry.
