How to improve reading habits

Reading culture is a very important part of our society. It’s not just about reading books but they should read educational content as books have been a source of knowledge for centuries. Reading develops brain intellect, improves memory and vocabulary, improves focus and concentration, puts less strain on our eyes, promotes good sleep, and so on.

Decline in reading habits…

For the last five years, there is decline in reading habits. Our fast paced lifestyle also plays an important role in the decline of reading habits. The main factor is Digital media, and our generation is getting distracted by the various platforms being provided by the internet, such as video games, streaming services, reels and shorts in YouTube, OTT, Netflix and so on. Also, people are more inclined to spend their free time in scrolling rather than dedicating time to reading a book. And it actually started during Corona time. Now they just flip through their books and don’t take much interest in reading. It is also due to lack of reading culture in our society. Lack of time, not getting books of their choice, lack of reading habit and books being expensive, are also reasons why people read less.

Ways to encourage reading…

Now we have to choose the subject matter according to present political situation, people’s interest and also current topics to be beneficial to our generation. We have to focus on the books of much discussed authors in politics and education field.

We have been publishing bestseller books of Osho, Bimal Chhajer, Biswaroop Roy Chowdhary, Kiran Bedi, Bhojraj Dwivedi, Narender Kohli, Ashok Chakradhar, Surender Sharma and so on. Our Chacha Chowdhary comics are in huge demand.

For wider readership, we are also working on translating our best-selling books in English and Hindi to various other languages such as Gujarati, Marathi, Bangla, Assamese, Odia, Punjabi, Urdu, Telugu, Tamil, etc.

We publish language learning books as Learn English through Kannada and vice versa and for Kannada to Hindi and vice versa and all other Indian languages. We also publish Language learning books from English to French, German, and Spanish etc.

Nowadays, books have become very costly. So there should be more number of libraries and every school should maintain good stock of books and one period should be for library to inculcate reading habits. The government should buy more books for libraries and increase funds for purchasing books.

Sales & promotions…

For generating sales and promotion of books, we put them on various social networking sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Google, Kindle and we have our own website too. Our mode of sales and promotion in include visits to book sellers, through our marketing teams, all over the country at least thrice a year and we get bulk orders. We have our marketing network all over India. Moreover, we supply our books to Library, Govt. depts. etc. In order to develop reading habits, we are now planning to publish audio and video books and digital program too like asking questions on our website from readers and rewarding them with our valuable books.
