National Reading Day celebrated across the country
National Book Trust, India celebrated National Reading Day across the country in remembrance of P.N. Panicker, the father of India’s library movement. On this occasion, creative reading activities were organized for children, teachers, trainers, and mentors at various locations including New Delhi, Dehradun, Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Varanasi, Mumbai, Guwahati, Agartala, Cuttack, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kochi. Thousands of children, teachers, and parents participated in this initiative to promote a reading culture, both offline and online. Children were engaged in reading practices in programs held at different locations. Emphasis was also given on reading books and digital reading through the Rashtriya e-Pustakalaya. Children were taught how to remember their favorite subjects in a fun way by reading them.
