New titles from Niyogi Books

Two more interesting books were recently launched by Niyogi Books. Authored by Humra Quraishi, Dagars & Dhrupad: Divine Legacy gives glimpses of the rich heritage of this haunting form of music that has enthralled audiences worldwide. It traces the history of the illustrious Dagar family through 20 generations of Dhrupad singers, highlighting their distinctive approach to this unique form of music. The book was launched in New Delhi in the august presence of Dr Karan Singh and Pramod Jain, joint secretary, Ministry of Culture, Govt of India.

While, The Courtesans of Karim Street authored by Debotri Dhar is the story of two contemporary women, caught in the web of colliding cultures while a saga of love, loss, friendship and choices unfolds.

The book was launched in New Delhi in the august presence of Dr SY Quraishi and Pavan Kumar Varma.
