New Delhi World Book Fair 2024: A Literary Extravaganza

New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) was successfully held from February 10-18, 2024,attracting more than 1000 publishers from India and abroad. The fairgrounds were brimming with over Fifteen lakh visitors and book lovers browsing books, attending author sessions, children’s activities and power-packed cultural performances.

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, Hon’ble Minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, inaugurated the fair. He also unveiled ‘Jaadui Pitara,’ an innovative E-learning platform aligned with National Education Policy 2020, featuring puzzles, riddles, and stories translated into 22 languages using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Two-day B2B exchange forum witnessed participation from over 40 countries and 500 scheduled meetings. Notable representatives from the United Kingdom, Argentina, Spain, France, Turkey, Iran, Italy, UAE, Nepal, Bangladesh, and more convened, emphasizing discussions on publishing licensing.

Hosted by National Book Trust, India, the Publishing Conference – CEOSpeak, focused on crucial aspects of the publishing industry. Deliberations centered on the integration of a multilingual landscape and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the global publishing sector.

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia featured as the Guest of Honor country, offering a captivating 360-degree visual experience. This Pavilion hosted over 50 events, showcasing literary works, historical artifacts, and cultural activities, becoming a hotspot for visitors.

Themed around ‘Multilingual India: A Living Tradition (Bahubhashi Bharat: Ek Jeevant Parampara)’, New Delhi World Book Fair 2024 celebrated the mosaic of languages weaved into the cultural fabric of our nation. There was also a photo exhibition on ‘Jammu Kashmir & Ladakh through the ages’ by ICHR that enthralled and educated the visitors at the same time.

The New Delhi World Book Fair (NDWBF) 2024 witnessed a groundbreaking addition to its lineup of events: the Festival of Festivals (FoF).
