Coimbatore Arts and Theatrical Society (CATS) along with Quill Club Writers released a book by Young Coimbatore Authors titled ‘Catapult- 21 stories in journey’ recently. The book is a compilation of short stories by students from 9 to 15 years. The work on the book began a year ago when Quill Club Writers shortlisted 21 writers among nearly 700 students through various levels of selection process.

Speaking on the occasion, Hemant Kumar and Ruchira Mittal, mentors from Quill Club Writers, said: “The book does not comprise children’s stories. It is a universe in itself.” The themes range from relationships, coming-of-age, courage, depression, amnesia and so on. “Coimbatore is all set to become the young writers’ capital,” said Hemant. He also added that Quill Club Writers would like to work these children all over again.

Shobha Vishwanath from Karadi Tales was part of the book launch.
