NBT-India’s Ganga Pustak Parikrama: an update
NBT-India’s Ganga Pustak Parikrama began its 66-days-long journey from Gangotri, and reached Uttarkashi on November 8, 2023 where it was welcomed by Shri Abhishek Ruhela, District Magistrate (DM), Uttarkashi.Lauding NBT-India’s unique initiatives towards promoting books and reading culture in the country like the Ganga Pustak Parikrama, Ruhela, highlighted the significance of the Books Not Bouquet Campaign. He emphasized the need to embrace the tradition of gifting books, symbolizing knowledge over flowers.
The exhibition featured books related to the conservation of Indian rivers, including the Ganga, in Hindi, English, Urdu, and various other Indian languages. The Ganga Pustak Parikrama’s journey will span major cities, towns, and villages along the Ganges, covering approximately 2500 km before concluding its journey on January 11, 2023 at Gangasagar.
