DC BOOKS & KERALA LITERATURE FESTIVAL GETS A NEW CULTURAL CENTRE
The DC Kizhakemuri Foundation and DC Books at the Golden Jubilee year brings to life the DC Kalamandir, a cultural centre for the promotion of art, design, literature and cinema. Created by renowned conservation architect, Eugene Pandala, the DC Kalamandir is an eclectic mix of earthy and sophistication and boasts of heritage & sustainable building.
The expansive complex of DC Kalamandir features a studio for cinema production, an art gallery, audio studios for dubbing and sound recording, a museum on publishing, film theatre, a library replete with lawns and amphitheaters for hosting workshops, symposiums and enhancing community experience.
While Kerala Literature Festival, organised by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation has garned global attention, is Asia’s Largest Literature Festival, the DC Kalamandir is a neo cultural sphere hosting extended formats of workshops, writer’s residencies, symposiums, literary meets, art exhibitions. The Centre aims to explore and bring in vivid flavours of culture via research, innovation and international collaborations.
DC Kalamandir began its cultural journey with prominent personalities like Prem Kumar, Vice Chairman, Kerala State Chalachitra Academy; Poet, Alankode Leelakrishnan;Eugene Pandala, the Creator- Designer; Bhagyalakshmi, artist along with Dr. N Ramachandran, Dean DCSMAT Institutions; DrJayasankar Prasad, Director DCSMAT Trivandrum and Ravi Deecee, Publisher DC Books.
