Hon’ble Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan inaugurated the ‘Read India-Lead India Campaign’ at Rajbhavan, Hyderabad in the presence of J Bhavani Shankar, Joint Secretary to Governor and Yuvraj Malik, Director National Book Trust, India.

School students in large numbers participated in the Read India-Lead India Campaign and interacted with the Hon’ble Governor.

In her special address to the students, Hon’ble Governor encouraged everyone to read at least an hour every day, especially autobiographies and biographies of inspiring personalities and imbibe the habit of writing at an early age. “Reading good books provides moral strength and refines the readers’ personality,” she added. Stating that reading books helps one gain knowledge, she emphasized that knowledge can be used as a power to bring reforms in the society. Hon’ble Governor also interacted with each student and shared inspiring anecdotes from her life.

Addressing the students, Yuvraj Malik, Director NBT-India said that the students of today are the leaders of tomorrow who will shape the future of the country and to lead the nation on the path of success, it is paramount to have the right knowledge which can only be gained from reading books and especially learn from the lives and struggles of great people through their biographies.
