English proficiency building platform, Lanquill.

Indian publishing industry veteran and past President of the Federation of Publishers and Booksellers Association in India, Kailash Balani, has acquired a stake in Lanquill, an artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) platform as a single stop solution to build English language proficiency for speaking, reading, writing and listening skills. Offering an online English Language Lab, Adaptive Learning and Certification, Lanquill is aimed at Indian and international universities. Balani, who has been in the industry for 48 years, is a member of the FICCI Publishing Committee and has worked with some of the biggest names in publishing. Balani says, “English proficiency is one of the top skill-gaps for employability in India and globally. Lanquill is here to fill this gap and believe it would make a positive socio-economic difference by enhancing the English communication skills of learners of all ages. Lanquill has been selected as one of the AI enabled personalized learning platform by NEAT, AICTE, India and the plan is to make it accessible across the country and globally.”

Balani, who began his journey in Indian publishing in 1974, has witnessed the evolution of print and online educational resources and has a deep understanding of learning products in the Indian landscape across diverse subject areas including management, science and technology, social sciences, law and medicine.

Designed for personal use as well as for small colleges to multi-campus international institutions, Lanquill is an online English language lab that uses the latest advancements in technology to provide a personalized learning experience to users and enhance all aspects of English communication skills. Lanquill’s Language Lab provides comprehensive Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing Practice boards, a personalized learning academy with multi-media learning materials, and seven levels of English proficiency certification aligned with global CEFR standards.
